Leith hit the A702 to take on Penicuik RFC

The Leithers hit the road tomorrow, travelling down the A702 to take on a Penicuik side who after a slow start to the season have been on a great run recently, climbing to 5th spot and with their sights set even higher.

New coach Mark Blair has rejuvenated the Midlothian club, creating a culture which has inspired new players and old to return to Pavillion Park. Penicuik have been fielding 2 sides regularly in 2015 and this competition for spots has undoubtedly aided their impressive 1st XV results. Leith, who are hoping to secure 3rd place in East 2 this season following the early promotion of runaway duo St Boswells and Forrester, know they will be in for a far tougher encounter than the 51-17 win at Academy Park in September.

The two sides are well acquainted, having locked horns in each of the past three seasons, and another combative matchup looks the likeliest of outcomes before we hit the bar for the third half.

As ever a big Leith contingent on the touchline at the Public Park in Penicuik will go a long way to helping the Leithers on their way. Enjoy the game.

Leith Team:

1 Bruce Connelly, 2 Craig Winton, 3 Stuart Fox, 4 Colin Marshall, 5 Ben Place, 6 Andy McIntosh, 7 Greg Hancock, 8 Mark Phillips (Capt.):

9 Andrew Paterson, 10 Blair Skipper, 11 Ross Kilgour, 12 Ross Marwick, 13 Craig Smith, 14 Steven Eadie, 15 Kenny Dannfald;

16 Willie Cook, 17 Kyle Gow, 18 Fraser Forsyth, 19 Sam Hall, 20 Daniel Carr, 21 Ben Wilkinson, 22 Andy Barr; 23rd man: Andy Morgan.

Come on Leith!
