Match Preview

After Saturday's split squad doubleheader with Forrester and Kinross, we welcome Scottish Prison Service RFC to Academy Park on Wednesday, for the first of two midweek friendlies this preseason (HMS Somerset, August 22nd being the other). Leith will again call on a big squad, and with some resting up for the trip to Paisley on Saturday, 30 are listed for minutes against SPS, whose are a works side drawn from clubs around the country. Our own 1st XV captain, Stu Wilson may have split loyalties on the night, with him playing against colleagues - while he starts the match in blue and white, you never know what the 2nd half may bring! 40 minutes for each? Having played at our 7s in 2015, we look forward to the first visit of SPS RFC to Leith this week.

The clubhouse will be open on the night (and till 10pm) for those looking for refreshments during the game.
