Match Report Saturday 05th September 2009 Walkerburn v Leith RFC

This game certainly went with the old saying of a game of 2 Half’s!
Leith were 29 – 0 up at half time. Our flying winger Ross Kilgour helping himself to a hatrick of Tries. There were also a Try each for our two Centres Maruis Briedenhann & Gareth Marshal. The highlight of the half had to be Ross Kilgour second try which came from a heel against the head from our young Hooker Willie Cook, with a little help from his ageing Props Craig Winton & Patrick Duigan, Scrum Half Sam Lee throwing the pass straight away to his Stand Off Craig Smith who shipped straight down the line through the two Centres to Ross who more or less had a straight run in to the line, a move straight off the training field had the Coaches slapping each other on the back.
The Second half was a far different affair with Walkerburn with the wind at their backs throwing everything including the Kitchen Sink at Leith or so it felt like.
Some outstanding Defence from everyone of the Leith team meaning Walkerburn only crossed the white wash once in the Second Half enabling David Meadows to Scoop the prize money for the last Try sweep organised on the Bus on the way down by Andrew Paterson. Please note he still never bought a drink!!!!!!
